Job summary
The Cardiac Rhythm Team is a supportive group of specialist nurses, clinical aide, HCA and clerical officer who deliver high quality services, support and education for patients experiencing arrhythmia. The cardiac rhythm specialist sister role is a varied one and includes working in EP and devices pre assessment, ICD rehabilitation, diagnostic testing, cardioversion service and patient telephone/email helpline. We work closely with our medical, pacing and ward colleagues.
Alongside support of patients, the team are supportive of each other and work closely together to provide the highest quality of care for our patients. Quality improvement is always on the agenda and all of the team's input is invaluable in striving for continual improvement.
Main duties of the job
Training will be provided in order for the successful candidate to work within the following CRM services:
EP and devices pre assessment
Care of patients undergoing DC cardioversion
Supporting ICD patients throughout their ICD rehabilitation programme
Dealing with patient telephone helpline and email queries
Undertaking diagnostic testing (adenosine and ajmaline tests)
You will have 2 years cardiology or acute care experience incorporating cardiological care of the patient.
You will be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be competent with a variety of IT systems.
You will have teaching/education skills.
You will have evidence of continuing professional development and change management within your current workplace.
