Healthcare Assistant Outpatients

Band: 2 (£22,383 per annum)

Location: You may be required to work in other designated locations of theTrust as well as your primary base. In particular, flexibility isrequired across the six Outpatient sites (Coalville, Loughborough, Market Harborough, Melton and Oakham).

If your initial location is one of these sites excess travelreimbursement would not apply for a permanent or temporarychange of base.

Main duties of the job

We are looking an enthusiastic healthcare assistant to work in the Hinckley Outpatients department.

You will enjoy a challenging varied pace and an exciting working environment caring for a complex workload.

There are three Outpatient departments within the building specialising in a variety of clinics including Ophthalmology, Plastics, Dermatology, orthopaedics, Diabetes, Pain management clinics

We can offer opportunities to gain knowledge and experience working within a diverse range of specialties.

You will be working closely with nursing and medical staff and be part of the multi-disciplinary team, to provide high quality care to patients and their carer's.You will need to have healthcare experience, excellent communication skills, positive personality and a mature and professional approach to their work. Computer skills are desirable. You must be able to deal with the public in a sensitive and polite manner, and be flexible in their approach to duties of work.

  • Provide support to the Multi Professional team under the direction of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional within all areas of the central outpatients department.
  • This role can involve frequent walking and standing for long periods of time. The post holder must also have the physical ability to use manual handling equipment i.e. equipment, trolleys and wheelchairs.
  • The post holder will be required to work flexibly at times to cover on other sites and attend for inhouse training sessions for their development.
