Job summary

JOB TITLE: Superintendent Radiographer

BAND: Band 7

BASE: Your primary base will be at the Loughborough Hospital; however travel between the other 5 Community hospital sites will be required

HOURS: 37.5 per week. Participation in 24/7 working will be required, including bank and public holidays.

REPORTS TO: Imaging Services Lead - Community Sites

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Imaging Services Lead and Lead General Manager.

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Superintendent Radiographer for X-ray services, based at the Loughborough Hospital but with responsibilities for a further 5 X-ray sites around Leicestershire. These are Coalville, Hinckley, Oakham, Market Harborough and Melton. There will be a need for flexibility to work both in managerial and clinical capacities, sometimes at short notice, therefore access to own transport is essential.

The duties and responsibilities are to lead and develop the delivery of theCommunity Services including the development of the Community Diagnostic Centres. This requires working co-operatively with other Modality leads and site Leads to ensure we are delivering Imaging at its Best. Day to day organisation of the X-ray Imaging departments including radiographers and Assistant practitioners and students.

Participation in the centralised Superintendent out-of-hours duties and occasional weekend cover at Loughborough is required.
