Job summary
Are you a registered band 5 nurse with 18 months neonatal, paediatric or adult ICU experience looking for an opportunity to work in an organisation (department) that will help you develop and achieve your goals to be the best you can be?
The ECMO service at UHL is one of the busiest ECMO centres in the world, managing neonatal & infant, paediatric and adult ECMO cases.
The Children's Hospital Reconfiguration Project is part of the £450 million investment received by Leicester Hospitals that has already relocated the Paediatric East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre and ECMO service from Glenfield Hospital to the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) site. We are now entering the second phase which is to create a new age-appropriate and purpose built environment bringing together all paediatric services in a standalone and fully integrated Children's Hospital at the LRI to serve the population of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and the East Midlands network. There has never been a better time to join our team and be part of defining our children's services now and for the future!
Main duties of the job
We are a friendly team of experienced, highly skilled specialist staff, making this a perfect learning environment for band 5s wanting to develop their ICU skills or explore a new sector of ICU.
The patients we care for are at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that delivering high quality care requires a culture of lifelong learning and development. With this in mind we have developed an extensive & exciting band 5 career pathway in ECMO, offering a number of exciting options to develop your nursing career. We are totally committed to helping you realise your potential. Whatever direction your career takes you we can support you to achieve it.
As a band 5 nurse in ECMO you will have a bespoke clear development plan. In addition to your induction and new starter appraisal you will have an individualised clear outlined plan of learning to follow.
