Job summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Health, safety and Compliance, the role provides specialist expertise and support to the Retail and Patient Catering Management Teams to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry best practice and maintain the highest level of food safety across both retail and patient catering at the Trust.
The role also facilitates the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the Trusts Food Safety Management Systems, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points). It is a fundamental component of the Estates and Facilities audit activities, competency assessments and will strive to continuously improve site food safety processes and procedures across all three sites.
This remit will also extend to any outsourced catering provision by third party organisations and suppliers.
Main duties of the job
Ensure that all catering staff across the 3 sites (c250) are up to date with all required Food Safety related training (and planned refresher training) in accordance with Trust Policy and the Food Safety Management System.
Ensure any performance issues are managed / escalated to line management for resolution.
Responsible for the development and implementation of a Food Safety Strategy reflecting the requirement of Local, and National Policy, Industry best practice and legislative requirements relevant to the safe delivery e.g. food servicesDevelop and implement effective communication systems for the CMG/Corporate Areas and external partners
