This is an exciting and rare opportunity for an enthusiastic and registered health care professional, looking for a senior leadership role within UHL's Simulation and Clinical Skills Team.
The post holder will support the Clinical Skills Unit Manager in the operational delivery of UHL's Simulation provision to Post Graduate Doctors in Training and other professions allied to medicine
Team Leadership is essential in this role, as is the ability to prioritise, multitask workload, maintain accuracy whilst meeting deadlines and deal calmly with changing priorities.
To be successful in this role you will have significant experience in Education and Training including Simulation & Human Factors and the confidence and proven experience to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision and solve problems as they arise.
You will be well presented and a good communicator with excellent organisational and IT skills.
The job is well supported and provides good opportunities to demonstrate initiative and willingness to take on responsibility is a must in this dynamic role.
An informal visit is essential for you to fully appreciate the work of the department.
Main duties of the job
This role is to:
- Be an expert practitioner in Simulation and Simulation Faculty training
- Lead on the identification of need, development and delivery for the provision of Simulation education development for UHL learners and multi-professional Undergraduate and Post Graduate programmes
- Support the delivery of clinical skills education, including clinical skills, resuscitation and National Courses
- Work alongside senior clinical leads to provide support and advice to develop CMG specific simulations
- Support the concept of continuing professional development through the delivery of Trust wide education and training
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of education, training and development delivered through the Clinical Skills Unit
- Line manage a team of Clinical Skills Unit staff
- Participate as required with undergraduate medical school examinations
- Participate as a member of local and regional simulation forums
- Provide flexible working hours to accommodate the different training sessions durations, start and finish times
- Deputise for the Clinical Skills Unit Manager in their absence
- Hold delegated responsibility for the associated non-pay budgets, including income generation targets

This role is to:
