We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and experienced practitioner , with a passion for exemplary standards of practice and service development, to join our Dermatology service, based at St Peter's Health Centre in the centre of Leicester. The post holder will also provide in-reach advice across the three sites of UHL as well so willingness to travel cross site is required.
This is a new role and the Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will work within agreed protocols and guidelines exercising independent judgement in history taking, examination, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a diverse and undetermined caseload of acutely or chronically ill patients who may have highly complex acute presentations to minor common Dermatological conditions.
A trainee post would be considered if suitable qualified candidate not found.

Main duties of the job
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will work within agreed protocols and guidelines exercising independent judgement in history taking, examination, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a diverse and undetermined caseload of critically or acutely or chronically ill or injured patients who may have highly complex acute presentations to the more minor common illnesses and injuries.
The ANP will act as a professional resource for the multi professional teams, patients and carers. They will ensure that evidence based practice is inherent in all aspects of care and treatment and ensure this knowledge is disseminated throughout the clinical area, across the Trust and externally as appropriate.
They will work under the supervision of a Dermatology Consultant whilst providing line management responsibilities to the Dermatology nursing team including management of sickness absence, performance and rostering managed in line with service delivery requirements.
The ANP will be required to accept clinical responsibility for their own case load of patients including those with a complex presentation. Provide treatment plans for patients and initiate, where appropriate, diagnostic tests and manage results accordingly.
Improvement the quality of patient experience by identifying and meeting the individual patient needs acting at all times in the best interest of the patient.
