Job summary
This 18-month fixed term post, based primarily at County Hall, will be based within the IM&T department. The post holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining eLearning, digital materials, guides and documents for the eHospital Programme that is delivering a first of type, mobile Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system in collaboration with Nervecentre.
The post holder will be working with the IM&T team and others including clinicians, technologists and operational colleagues across various projects, to assist in the delivery of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) solutions to enable a blended learning approach to courses.
You will be expected to work on your own initiative whilst working closely with the wider eHospital Team.
Main duties of the job
This role will require such tasks as creating interactive eLearning, video demonstrations & video editing, podcasts, screencasts, video casts, animations, etc. for the various modules as they are developed, or updated, within our eHospital Programme along with any other training materials. In addition you may be called upon to facilitate or train and lead online forums and Teams-based meetings supporting any training.

To date we have delivered trust-wide, inpatient handover profile notes, observations, nursing assessments, clinical photography and discharge letters within the Nervecentre application. Furthermore, both Nervecentre's electronic prescribing (eMeds) and Pathology/Radiology requesting (Investigations) modules have been deployed in the last 18 months, to all Adult inpatient wards. In the current financial year (FY23/24), we will be introducing SNOMED coding for diagnosis, nursing care plans, eMeds in paediatrics, case notes and outpatient modules within the Nervecentre application. We are also collaboratively developing Nervecentre's Patient Administration System (PAS). Other novel projects include the UK's first truly Closed Loop Medication Administration (Optimed) project that University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust are piloting alongside Deenova and Nervecentre.Over the next few years, we wish to significantly reduce our reliance on paper notes and this will give us an even greater opportunity to significantly improve our working environment, research capabilities and patient care

The post holder will be expected to plan the work process, identify the appropriate method of technology and report progress to the Training Lead on a regular basis (frequency will vary). To use available software to create Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) content incorporating (but not exclusive to) graphics, animations, video and sound. Support and advice on the use of virtual classrooms to maximise remote learning. To direct narrators in the studio when recording narrations. To take responsibility for selected video editing. To keep up to date with all developments and trends in educational technology Be responsible for the production of print-based learning material to support the use of educational technology, where appropriate.

To be conversant with all developments and trends in educational technologies and any associated technologies. To be aware of national developments within the NHS on eLearning initiatives.

Be responsible for providing support where needed. Provide a helpful and effective support service to all service users Prepare and deliver presentations using our M365 platform (MS Team Meetings, MS Live Events, etc.) as and when required. Participate in team meetings within the Department and Trust. This will involve giving feedback/reports on progress with work, outlining any risks/difficulties and offering solutions wherever possible. Communicate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure that their expectations and specifications are clearly understood and that they appreciate and agree to any limitations and/or change in requirements. There may be challenges in communication with the SMEs due to differing levels of technical understanding across staff groups. There may also be challenges when timescales proposed by the SMEs are not achievable due to technical considerations or alternatively when projects are delayed, and timescales not met. Communication within and outside of the team may be verbal i.e., face-to-face, via telephone, email, text or in a written report format. Participation in video conferencing activities.
