The postholder will play a key role in ensuring supportive and responsive operational leadership across UHL. We want a leader who will work alongside us to drive improvements across all aspects of UHL as a core part of the leadership team.
Now is an exciting time to join UHL. We have a once in a generation chance to transform our hospitals through our plan to build new capacity at Glenfield Hospital and our national capital allocation. The ambitious and wide-ranging transformation programme will ensure the teams can deliver the highest quality services and will significantly improve outcomes and care for patients and the local communities. UHL is also part of the LLR Integrated Care System and we already have strong relationships with primary care, CCG, Leicestershire Partnership Trust, Local Authority and voluntary sector partners and we are developing lead provider arrangement for UEC
Main duties of the job
Supporting the Chief Operating Officer, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Management Group Leadership Teams (CMGs), and other colleagues the post holder will support capacity, flow, discharge and operational projects and programmes across UHL.
Responsibilities will include:
- Operational leadership for capacity and flow team across UHL
- Operational leadership for discharge across UHL
- Operational leadership across the Trust, including supporting and leading the day to day running of our services and sites
- Delivery of improvement programmes and deputising for colleagues where necessary
- Leadership and management of external contractors and relationships
- Leadership and responsibility for various other workstreams and projects across UHL and sometimes the system
This senior leadership role has an emphasis on delivery, performance and planning. The post holder will lead the Clinical Management Group input and engage in issues needing high level operational and strategic intervention in relation to the projects it is leading. Working with colleagues, the Associate Director of Operations will be tasked with delivering programme goals to specified timelines.
Using their extensive experience and knowledge, they will be the conduit for all capacity related issues providing managerial leadership ensuring patient's safety is paramount and discharge processes are effective and timely.
