Palliative Care Team Cross site
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Palliative Care Nurse to work as Palliative/End of Life Care Lead Nurses across University Hospitals Leicester NHS Trust. You will be working within a large acute teaching Trust leading the Specialist Palliative and End of Life Care nursing team.
We are looking to recruit two innovative, forward thinking individuals to work alongside the Head of Service for Specialist Palliative Care and End of Life Care Lead Consultant, to implement strategy and service improvements across the Trust.
It is essential that the successful person possess evidence of qualification in Palliative care, excellent communication and leadership skills, is passionate about maintaining a clinical focus and credibility and can demonstrate experience in delivering education, along with involvement in audit and research.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of supportive and palliative care for those with life limiting conditions and for the End of Life Care agenda. The post holder will work in close collaboration with the Head of Service and End of Life Care (EoLC) lead to implement strategy and service improvements across the Trust. They will be responsible for providing line management for the Macmillan Specialist Palliative/End of Life Care nursing team throughout University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL)
Lead and provide strategic direction for palliative and end of life care nursing across the multi- professional teams within UHL, in accordance with the national guidelines and quality measures to ensure effective service improvement and delivery. Including the implementation of NICE Supportive & Palliative Care guidelines and end of life care quality measures.
