Clinical Health Care Support Worker - Ward 8B Band 3

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for more people to join our dynamic team. Ward 8B is a 24 bedded general medical ward caring for all patients with a variety of medical conditions.

Main duties of the job

Working under delegation and supervision of a registered Nurse, the Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) will undertake defined responsibilities appropriate to their role in the workplace setting. They will comply with Trust policies, protocols, guidelines, the fifteen standards of the Care Certificate and the national strategy of Compassion in Practice and will ensure safe, compassionate and competent care is delivered to our patients and service users at all times.

It is a requirement of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust that all HCSWs adhere to the Code of Conduct for healthcare support workers and adult social care workers.

All HCSW will be supported in completing the Care Certificate, which can be used to support applications to higher learning (Nurse Associate)

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

  • Literacy and numeracy qualifications equivalent to Functional Skills level 1 or above (e.g. GCSE grade E or above)
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care or equivalent qualification or relevant experience
  • Evidence of the Care Certificate or commitment to achieve on joining Trust
  • Motivated to develop knowledge and skills and to undertake self-development

Desirable
