We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join our multidisciplinary Occupational Health team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, which is working towards its SEQOHS accreditation. We collaborate extensively with colleagues in Health & Wellbeing, Health & Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, and Human Resources. Our team includes part-time consultant occupational health physicians, senior occupational health advisors, occupational health advisors, occupational health nurses, technicians, and a small in-house team of counsellors, all supported by dedicated team of medical administrators. We have Occupational Health departments at our main hospital sites in Lincoln, Boston, and Grantham.
In addition to serving our host trust, we provide Occupational Health services to the wider NHS community in Lincolnshire, and a range of private sector clients.
While this is initially a fixed-term opportunity for 12 months, whilst we consider the long-term requirements of the service.
Main duties of the job
The primary focus of this role is case management, which includes handling management referrals and providing high-quality reports on all aspects of fitness for work. This encompasses return-to-work advice, rehabilitation programmes, and recommendations on reasonable adjustments. A solid background in case management is essential, as is the ability to work independently and manage your own clinical caseload.
Although the primary focus is case management, the diverse nature of our department's work and the need to support colleagues with clinical queries require a broad range of Occupational Health experience, including some within the NHS. You should be able to work independently, enjoy being part of a large team, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
As a paper-light department, good IT skills and experience using OH databases are essential. This is a full-time role with core hours from 08:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). However, we are open to considering part-time hours to meet the service's needs.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

- Current registration on Part 3 NMC Specialist Community Public Health Nurse
- Occupational Health Qualification at Degree level (or equivalent appropriate experience)
