Main duties of the job
Lincoln County Hospital Lincoln County Hospital is situated in the uphill area of the city, close to the Cathedral. It is a large purpose-built modern District General Hospital, which provides a wide range of specialist clinical services. It has a complement of 557 beds.
There is a Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) which is located within the footfall of the Emergency Department at Lincoln and has the capacity to take 2 x trolley spaces, 2 x cohort spaces and 6 x chairs. This area is staffed by 2 x Registered Nurses and 1 x HCSW, 24 hours a day. All patients remain under the care of the Emergency Department.
Roles and Responsibilities
Clinical duties:
The primary responsibilities of the post holder during their clinical shifts include:
o Assessment, management, referral and discharge of patients presenting to the Emergency Departments and Clinical Decision Units, seeking support where appropriate from senior clinical members.
o Collaborating with all members of the Emergency Department team and colleagues from other departments.
o Communicating effectively with patients and colleagues; and
o Performing Rapid Assessment and Triage of patients who self-present and those brought by ambulance
