Job summary

We have exciting opportunities to join the Trustwide Waiting List Team, with your base being at Grantham District Hospital. We are looking to recruit staff to support the service and currently have a part time, fixed term hours available.

Your role will entail managing the day to day running of the waiting lists, ensuring theatre lists are booked to the required parameters where you will work closely with the business units, pre-assessment, wards and the theatre team along with others to ensure the patients journey through theatre is a smooth as possible. Cross cover between Specialties may be necessary.

Typical expected working days are Monday-Friday, 0800-1400, however there will be flexibility with start and finish times, and days worked over a 30.0 hour week.

Main duties of the job

To facilitate an efficient, effective and responsive administrative support including Admission and pre-assessment procedures and maintenance of waiting lists.

To ensure patients receive appointments (Inpatient/Day Case and Outpatient) in line with all National, Trust and in-house policies.

To maintain a high standard of quality in providing the Choice & Access Service, supporting patient's, clinical staff and the Trust in achieving their goals.

To produce high quality patient information for the Trust to enable maximum use of resources and to support service level agreements and planning of future service.

The main duties will be to assist the Trust in planning theatre dates for our patients across the county, achieving Choice & Access targets by ensuring theatre lists are fully utilised, and giving priority to long wait patients and those cancelled on the day.

You will ensure patients receive all relevant information in a timely and effective way and work with the teams to ensure that we are working in line with the current COVID restrictions.

You will ensure all data relating to patients is captured in a timely and accurate manner whilst maintaining data protection guidelines.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
