Pharmacy Storekeeper / Clerk - Band 2

Job summary

To receive pharmaceutical goods, unpack and inspect the integrity and quality of contents. To check all deliveries; comparing the product to a delivery note, copy order and computer data and then to input details accurately into the pharmacy computer system.

To demonstrate an extensive knowledge of stock control procedures to maintain an efficient stock control system, to ensure safe and secure movement of pharmaceuticals.

To assemble and return any unwanted, damaged or incorrect deliveries to suppliers.

To supply pharmaceuticals to wards, departments and other ULHT sites against requisition notes as a top up service or by direct supply.

To conduct expiry date checks, stocktaking and stock returns as required.

  • General Clerical Skills including keyboard & IT skills
  • NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or willingness to work towards achieving it
  • Simple Mental Arithmetic Skills

Desirable

  • GCSE grades A-C or equivalent in English, Maths and preferably a Science subject
  • ECDL or equivalent ICT qualification

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Stores / Administrative / Secretarial experience
  • Working knowledge of computerised stock control system

Desirable

  • Relevant work experience in a similar field or healthcare environment
