Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of highly motivated Health Records Clerks at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust based at Pilgrim Hospital.

The department is looking to recruit a Team Leader into our admin service into a fixed term full time role. The hours are: Week one 08:30 - 16:30, Week two 13:00 - 21:00.

The Health Records Service involves reception duties, dealing with patients and relatives by telephone/face to face, liaising with GPs and other health care professionals both internally and externally.

Applicants must haveGCSE Maths & English Grade C or above or equivalent qualifications.

A professional, positive understanding of others attitudes as well as providing outstanding care to our patients at all times is essential, as is the ability to prioritise, use your own initiative and work under pressure as part of a team. It's essential you are able to work to tight deadlines and have the ability and willingness to work flexibly.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in leading a large multifunctional team to support the Health Records Service. This post is a 1st line management position and will be primarily dealing with staffing and organising the timely delivery of casenotes for clinics and emergency admissions on a day to day basis.

Candidates should have:

  • Drive and enthusiasm
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Evidence of the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Evidence of supervisory ability
  • Awareness of finance and budgets
  • Minimum of two years NHS experience would be advantageous
  • A pragmatic approach to problem solving

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence to significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Pilgrim Hospital is situated beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
