Clinical Technologist in Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine is a recently renovated regional department. There are three SPECT gamma cameras in total, two newly installed camera, two with CT and a modern Radiopharmacy unit. There is also a recently upgraded Hermes Medical image processing system.

Lincoln County Hospital has two SPECT-CT gamma cameras (Siemens Pro-SPECTA, and Phillips BrightView XCT, SPECT/CT), and one SPECT camera (Siemens Evo). Approximately 4000 patient imaging procedures (adult and paediatric) are performed per year with a high proportion of bone, renal and cardiac procedures.

The post holder will be involved in all the routine activities, including radiopharmacy, imaging, non-imaging, image processing, equipment QC, MRT, dispensing and injecting radiopharmaceuticals. This will require flexibility of working hours as start times vary. This is a Monday to Friday service with occasional optional weekend clinics. .

Applicants should hold a BSc in Clinical Technology (nuclear medicine) or a HND in MPPM, have current in depth experience and should be on the IPEM RCT - Register for Clinical Technologists or be a HPC registered Radiographer.

Applicants of less experience will be considered for appointment at Band 5 level until suitable experience in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine achieved.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
