Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for leading the design and build of specified EPR modules, under their allocated tranche of the programme delivery plan.
The post holder will build andmaintain strong relationships with the related clinical areas in the Trust and with the EPR supplier, Nerve Centre.
The post holder will work closely with the other Tranche Design & Build Leads, and the wider pool of Delivery Group Leads.
This role will include in-depth analysis of current working practices, process mapping and policy analysis, and coordinating others to carry out this activity too - with the principles of User-Centred Design (UCD) in mind. The post holder will leadand support on design and build, including testing and go-live activities.
The post holder will provide support to the EPR team to implement the Trust's digital strategy through the lifecycle of the programme.
Main duties of the job
The EPR Programme Team is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the new EPR system (NerveCentre). The postholder will play a key role in the implementation of the EPR across United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (ULTH). The postholder will provide leadership and practical support to digital and clinical workstreams to take forward improvements and new ways of working, enable successful service transition, drive operational change, and help realise the qualitative and quantitative benefits available with a fully integrated electronic patient record.
The post holder will work with the clinical teams to ensure alignment of priorities to achieve the overall programme plan and support staff to develop and improve the new EPR for all clinical services across the Trust - following the principles of User-Centred Design.
Improving patient safety, quality of care, patient experience and staff experience is an explicit priority rather than an assumption and needs to underpin all elements of the implementation and beyond.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.

Manage, co-ordinate and lead a team of Workstream Leads, Analysts and Subject Matter Experts, drawing on other expertise across the Programme as required.

Assist with the delivery of the Trusts new EPR system as part of a designated team and ensure the design integrity of that application.

Provide regular progress reports and escalation of risks and issues to the Programme Manager as required

Work in partnership with NerveCentre and EMAPDDC

Work on several integrated areas to ensure a coordinated approach across all teams.

Analyse and suggest ways to improve current workflows and working practices.

Facilitate agreement for changes in working practices with appropriate stakeholders.

Match agreed workflows with those already built into the suppliers EPR system and/or configuring the suppliers EPR system using configuration tools to tailor the system.

Assist with testing of the systems to ensure it is safe, usable, secure, and robust.

Work collaboratively with the stakeholders and the project team to assess the readiness of the organisation to implement change.

Produce collateral to support new ways of working e.g., workflow and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Understand the links to other parts of the EPR system and external clinical systems, ensuring design and build of specified modules do not cause detrimental impact.

Triage issues raised by workstream leads and stakeholders, identifying and implementing resolution in a timely manner.

Configure the specified EPR modules as required to capture the required data sets for reporting, working closely with the Reporting Delivery Group Lead.

Ensure that the workstream solutions continually deliver the clinical record to the highest standard.

Support the Education and Training Delivery Group in revisions and updates as the design and build develops, or feedback is received from the trainers/testers

Provide line management to allocated Analysts, setting objectives, conducting appraisals and encouraging their continual professional development.

Champion the EPR workflows, making suggestions for improvements and embedding best practice.
