Patient administration underpins the patient journey, supports clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and can make a real difference to the patient experience. Effective and efficient patient administration supports management through ensuring a high standard of data quality and by making the best use of capacity and resources. The Medical Secretarial Assistant is a vital part of effective patient administration.

Main duties of the job

The medical secretarial team provides a comprehensive service to the Consultants and their teams and is essential in the provision of a high quality patient experience. The post-holder will support the administration and secretarial teams with their day-to-day duties.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic team player and an experienced typist, and will be required to have GCSE English grade C or equivalent as well as typing and word processing skills to RSA level 2, including audio typing experience. A flexible approach to work is required and an ability to get on with others in a team based environment.
