Job summary

We are looking for an occupational therapist to join our teams at Lincoln County Hospital. It is an exciting time to join ULTH, with significant investment in therapies to support a new therapy service to the Emergency Department and the acute assessment areas. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to rotate in acute medicine, health care of the older person, orthopaedics (including designated time in out-patient hand therapy), surgery, community/outreach and the Front Door Therapy Team. The Front Door Therapy Service is provided from 8am to 8pm, and candidates on this rotation will be required to meet the service demand.

The post holder will be part of a rotational group of band 5 occupational therapists working as part of a 7 day service. Each rotation is for approx 6 months in each speciality.

Your base will be at Lincoln Hospital and there will be a requirement to work at Pilgrim Hospital as required.

At ULTH we are an Integrated Therapy service with our Physiotherapy colleagues with a greater emphasis on rehabilitation and prevention of deconditioning. We aim to provide a high standard of Therapy to patients either in ED, outpatients or in patient wards. You may be working in the hospital or community setting for parts of these rotations but with the full support of a large therapy team around you.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for Occupational Therapists to join our well-established team of over 60 Integrated Therapy staff. You will provide high standard Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions within an integrated therapy team. These rotational positions offer an important opportunity and challenging career move for you to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge. As a department we are committed to excellence and provide regular staff supervision and appraisal. The department also supports occupational therapy students.

Our team is highly focussed on supporting your development and we work hard to ensure you will receive 1:1 supervision, regular training/peer reviews and access to advice and support.

All Occupational Therapist benefit from protected CPD time, as well as the opportunity to attend locally organised courses run by nationally accredited tutors.

Pilgrim Hospital is situated beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.
