Job summary
This is a full time (40 hours + on call commitment) Trust Locum Registrar post in Elderly Care Medicine at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. The successful applicant would commence as soon as possible for a fixed term of twelve months.
The Post holder is expected to work a standard 40 hour week, including base ward work, SPA (4 hours a week) and additional on-call work as part of the General Medicine Rota as a medical registrar.
Any applicant who is unable for personal reasons to work full time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust.
Main duties of the job
(b) Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. Participation in the medicine on-call registrar rota would be expected (with additional remuneration).
(c) The post holder is responsible for the admission, clerking and day-to-day care of patients on the HCOP and General Medicine wards, as required. They will be expected to provide senior clinical support to the resident doctors.
(b) Study leave will be granted for approved courses by agreement with the supervising consultants and at the discretion of the Clinical Lead. There is an active postgraduate programme with weekly lectures, radiology and medical meetings. Although not a formal training post, the post holder will be expected to participate in the teaching programme, and will be encouraged to attend appropriate courses to develop in their career. The appointee will be encouraged to undertake a quality improvement projects in HCOP and participate in the monthly Audit findings meeting.
