Salary: Min grade value is £43,923. Max grade value is £55,329.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled, committed and compassionate team at United Lincolnshire Hospital NHS Trust and the successful candidate will be part of a forward looking department of General Paediatrics and Neonatology. The Clinical Fellow will spend 40% of their time supporting non-clinical activity, which will include education,training, research, administration, project work, and meetings and 60% will be clinical, including on-call commitment.
This fellowship is suitable for a wide variety of medical applicants, including being an ideal opportunity for a senior clinician, with established clinical skills to be able to develop strategic NHS insight and develop their non-clinical skills in a supportive environment.
The Trust has close ties with the University of Lincoln and a new medical school for Lincolnshire in collaboration with the University of Nottingham since 2019.
Main duties of the job
Key Duties & Responsibilities: This is a supervisory post and suitable previous experience is essential.
- Teaching and Education : Medical students are regularly attached to the Unit and the Clinical Fellow will assist with teaching including the supervision of them throughout the duration of their placements. The clinical fellow are occasionally involved in teaching Nursery Nurses, Student Nurses and Midwives.
- General Paediatrics : The in-patient service is based on the children's wards . The Clinical Fellow (ST3+) may be called out to Accident & Emergency to give advice or deal with emergencies. You will be expected to supervise the ST1 and F1 doctors and be responsible for patients in the ward. You will be involved in assessing children with safeguarding concerns but will be overseen by the Consultants. The post holder will be expected to attend Out-Patients regularly. These sessions include Lincoln / Boston based and visiting Consultants.
- Neonatal: The Clinical Fellow (ST3+) will be called to assist and supervise the junior doctors at resuscitation on the labour suite, on the post natal wards and on the neonatal unit. You will be required to work along and supervise the Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. Infants with surgical problems and extreme prematurity are transferred to tertiary unit.
- On Call Duties: Participation in the Middle Grade Rota covering Paediatric, Neonatal and Emergency Department
