Job summary

As CT Radiographer your base site will be either Pilgrim , Grantham or Lincoln Hospital but you will provide cross site cover however you will support the CT service across ULH, support 7 day services and out of hours coverage. You will commence as a Band 5 CT Radiographer and be uplifted to Band 6 once CT competencies and inter-personal skills signed off. We have 5.92 WTE Band 6 CT Radiographer vacancies and this is to substantively staff a new CT scanner that was obtained during Covid-19.

We provide radiology services to the county from 7 sites. Our facilities are well equipped. The trust has invested in DR technology, new interventional suites, 4 State of the art Canon CTs' and 3 Siemens MRI scanners and up to date ultrasound equipment.

  • State of the art CT scanners - 2 x Canon Prime SP 160 slice with bariatric and cardiac scanning capabilities operational since March '21 at Pilgrim Hospital Boston.
  • State of the art Canon Aquilion One Prism with Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE) / Deep Learning Spectrum designed for deep intelligence (first in the region), as well as a Canon Prime SP with bariatric couch and cardiac capabilities.
  • State of the art Canon Prime SP 160 slice with bariatric couch and cardiac capabilities at Grantham & District Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and patient driven with an in-depth understanding of CT from a clinical and technical perspective. You may also have previous experience of line management, implementing change and low level project management.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite, you will be expected to manage your time carefully and able to prioritise conflicting demands, whilst working with a wide range of stakeholders to provide a single pan-trust service which meets the needs of our patients. You will be required to support the CT service out of hours on a rota basis.

  • Qualified to perform intra-venous cannulation and injections
  • HPC registration

Desirable

  • Post-graduate qualification in CT scanning to MSc level.
  • Evidence of post-graduate studies

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of CT scanning protocols and techniques
  • Evidence of CPD activity
