Job summary

We are looking for a physiotherapist to join our team at Grantham Hospital. The successful applicant will covering a range of rotations: Orthopaedics/Surgical, Medical, Musculoskeletal and Hydrotherapy, Neurological Outpatients/Community. There is also the option to spend time at either Lincoln or Boston hospitals to gain further experience in other clinical areas. The post will be full time, and will work as part of a 7 day service.

Grantham Hospital is working towards becoming the "Orthopaedic centre of Excellence" for the region and is the main site for elective orthopaedic surgery in Lincolnshire. There are some exciting developments across the MSK and orthopaedic pathways here, including "prehabilitation" for elective hip and knee patients that you would be able to get involved in. Grantham is also the the only hospital site in Lincolnshire with a hydrotherapy pool and you will be able to gain hydrotherapy experience as part of your rotations.

Our team is highly focussed on supporting your development and we work hard to ensure you receive 1:1 supervision, regular training/peer review/journal clubs and access to advice and support from our team leads and clinical specialist physiotherapists. ULHT have a preceptorship programme to support new band 5s in their first 6 months in post and we have an established band 5 training programme. All physiotherapists benefit from protected CPD time, and there is also the opportunity to apply for external courses and training.

Main duties of the job

Provision of high quality physiotherapy input to patients across the areas of rotation. This will include: maintaining own clinical caseload, ensuring effective documentation, taking on delegated work from senior staff, delegation to assistant staff and students, keeping up to date with training needed for the role and being an active member of the therapy team and supporting with departmental duties.

One of our rotations is a community rotation with the requirements to travel. We can provide a vehicle, driving licence or commitment to learn to drive is desirable.
