Main duties of the job
Having been rated as Good Paediatric services across all domains by the CQC we are now seeking a Trust Locum Consultant to consolidate this position and support our journey to becoming Outstanding Paediatric services (this is uniquely favourable situation to be in for our District General Hospital in the East Midlands).
The successful candidate will have a strong consolidation in general Paediatrics and Neonatology but with the scope to develop their own specialist interest, in particular Gastroenterology, Paediatric Oncology and Paediatric mental health. However, a range of special interests will be considered.

The Paediatric Service at Lincoln County Hospital consists of a 24 bedded ward for medical and surgical inpatients and a separate Paediatric Assessment Unit, along with a well-equipped paediatric outpatient department. The team work closely with colleagues based at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston and hold clinics at Grantham and District General Hospital. There is a 24/7 middle grade cover one each on Paediatrics and neonates achieved through proactive sustainable staff recruitment and retention processes. There is excellent support by APNPs, ANNPs, CCNs and Specialist nurses. There is excellent report by HEEM school of Paediatrics regarding the quality of training offered in our department, which also reflects high trainee satisfaction and morale in our department.

10 Consultants (including this post) provide a comprehensive service along with a number of tertiary specialists (from Nottingham and Leicester) for joint clinics. This 10 PA post attracts a 5% on call supplement for week day and weekend on calls.
We are looking for two enthusiastic Paediatricians, with full GMC registration, MRCPCH or equivalent and a broad range of experience.
