We are looking for a dynamic healthcare support worker to join our JAG accredited Endoscopy unit . Your main role will be working as part of our specialist decontamination team, but you will also have a patient facing role
Main duties of the job

Job description
Job responsibilities
As detailed above you will work closely with the whole endoscopy team and members from other areas such as theatres, gynaecology and clinical engineering.
You will prepare and make available scopes for the endoscopy lists.
You will assist to set up the procedure rooms.
You will have input in our digital tracking system.
You will receive scopes post procedure where you will manually clean them
before loading into our automatic washer disinfectors.
You will unload them and place into the drying cabinets ready for their next use.
You will vacuum pack scopes to maintain sterility, ready for immediate use.
You will follow the daily cleaning schedule and record as required.
You will assist in taking weekly water samples.
You will handle work related chemicals and will receive full training for this.
You will escalate problems to the senior members of the team.
You will assist in the admission of patients and care in the recovery area post procedure.
You will train in cannulation, venepuncture and ECG.
You will work under direct supervision of a trained nurse to assist in the procedure rooms.
