United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) are seeking a highly motivated Estates Engineering Stores Person who will be based in the Estates Department Stores at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. The post holder will be required to play a proactive part within the Estates Management Team to meet Trust objectives in a safe, cost effective, efficient manner in compliance with legislation and good practice.

Main duties of the job

Job Responsibilities:

  • Day to Day stores management
  • Control of stock ensuring procedures are in place for accepting goods from suppliers and allocating stock to estates teams in a manner which can be auditable and traced
  • Ordering and management of stock levels
  • Review of stock and non stock products ensuring types of stock adapt to the changes of the engineering environment such as where new products may be installed, the estates stock has a level of stock control for new essential parts
  • Conduct Weekly Audits
  • Negotiate with suppliers, ensuring value for money
  • Ordering and financial control in line with Trust Standing Financial instructions
  • Liaise with procurement services for support of stock and purchasing control
  • Maintain accurate records of stock, including the receipting of goods received and issuing of stock against appropriate task reference numbers.
  • Maintain a legible, tidy environment of stores and stock
  • Maintain COSHH control when ordering chemicals, paints etc and ensuring COSHH data is available for all such products

  • Appropriate City and Guilds Qualification, NVQ2 or equivalent in an Engineering related or material management discipline
  • Additional Hospital Engineering related certified training
  • Demonstrable extensive experience of Estates stores management in a similar size organisation

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Must have experience and able to use a variety of computer software systems for the purpose of stock and stores management
  • Experience in the management and development of stores and stock control within a similar organisation or similar size and complexity organisation.

Desirable

  • Experience of maintenance or stores management in a hospital environment.

Evidence of Particular Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework
  • Good understanding of general regulations, and associated safety procedures
  • Able to work safely and have knowledge of Health and Safety legislation in the built environment
