Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, well-motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy at the Front Door Team, which will be part of a rotational post working as part of a 7 day service in other specialities including Health Care of the Older Person, Orthopaedics, Acute Medical, Surgery and Respirator We are an Integrated Therapy service at both hospital sites with a greater emphasis on rehabilitation and prevention of deconditioning. Along with providing a high standard of Therapy to patients brought into hospital, including older adults with frailty who are experiencing problems with their activities of daily living due to illness or injury. Together, part of a multidisciplinary team you will carry out assessments, formulate and implement appropriate interventions, in agreement with the patient, to deliver a safe and effective discharge plan. We aim to facilitate patients to be discharged at the earliest opportunity having reached a level of occupational functioning that their needs can be met and managed at home in the community.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for Occupational Therapists to join our well-established team of over 60 Integrated Therapy staff. You will provide high standard Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions within an integrated therapy team. These rotational positions offers an important opportunity and challenging career move for you to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge. As a department we are committed to excellence and provide regular staff supervision and appraisal. The department also supports occupational therapy students.

Our team is highly focussed on supporting your development and we work hard to ensure you will receive 1:1 supervision, regular training/peer review/journal clubs and access to advice and support.

All Occupational Therapist benefit from protected CPD time, as well as the opportunity to attend locally organised courses run by nationally accredited tutors.
