Burton Ward is a 20 bedded ward that cares for male and female patients with renal or complex care conditions. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a health care support worker to join our team. Burton Ward has been refurbished to be a Dementia friendly environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to be part of our dynamic team. You will be working in a complex care environment, taking care of patients who have dementia or long term medical conditions. You will be working on all shift patterns on a rotational basis, providing high quality patient care with compassion and integrity.
The ward is also part of the acute renal service, caring for patients who require haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis or with patients suffering from AKI.
As part of the position we offer a comprehensive induction program and a structured training and development plan. You will receive support and direction from the ward sister and the nursing team. We will actively encourage the successful applicants to continue with their own professional and personal development.

Main duties of the job
You will also have good communication skills; be able to use your own initiative; and work effectively on an individual basis as well as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team in a demanding and busy environment. You will have a flexible approach to work and must be able to undertake shift work.
Previous experience is not essential as support will be provided to develop knowledge, skills and understanding to ensure the delivery of a first class service to our patients. You will be committed to on going personal and career development; be willing to undertake The Care Certificate if not already attained; and any other further education, training and development relevant to the post.
The successful candidates will need to work as an active member of the team and at all times deliver high standards of patient care, while maintaining a positive experience for the patients.
