MRI Appointments Clerk. FULL TIME 37.5 hours per week

The United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest Trusts in the country, providing acute services across the county of Lincolnshire. Grantham & District Hospital is a District General Hospital serving the City of Grantham and South Lincolnshire.

A vacancy has arisen for an MRI appointments clerk to work within the MRI Department. We scan around 48,000 patients every year, and need someone to help with booking and appointing these patients. Duties include meeting and greeting patients, booking of appointments, handling telephone calls, use of the Radiology Information System and PAS system, and other clerical duties. Other duties include assisting the radiographers, and providing assistance to our patients in a caring and empathetic manner.

This is a small and dedicated team, with close working relationships with Radiographers, Radiologists and Cardiologists. A flexible approach to the working day is essential, along with a fantastic team working approach.

Main duties of the job

Duties include meeting and greeting patients, booking of appointments, handling telephone calls, use of the Radiology Information System and PAS system, and other clerical duties. Other duties include assisting the radiographers, and providing assistance to our patients in a caring and empathetic manner.

We will have 5 MRI scanners, increasing to 8 in two years time.

  • Basic Computer skills

Desirable

  • An ability to progress to NVQ qualification in appropriate discipline to level II or III.
  • PAS Training
  • ECDL

  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working.
  • Experience of Reception and administration.
  • Good and experienced phone manner.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience of working in a hospital.
