  • To carry out and assist with basic Cardiology diagnostic tests:

    - to perform electrocardiograms in outpatient clinics.

    - to perform electrocardiograms on GP patients, and make a decision regarding clinical urgency of the report with minimal supervision.

    - to prepare, upload on computer, and apply 24hr ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring equipment. Includes removal of equipment and downloading collected data to relevant computer system.

    - to issue and explain operation of cardiac event monitoring equipment.

    - to assist with departmental administration.

    - to assist cardiac physiologists with other investigations, including echocardiograph

Main duties of the job

Your role will involve performing routine 12 lead ECGs on a wide range of patients (including paediatrics), fitting ECG Holter monitors and fitting 24hr Blood Pressure monitors. You will also be expected to assist in other advanced cardiac diagnostics under the supervision of senior staff. You will be expected to assist the echocardiography service when required. Full training (both in-house and via external providers) will be provided for the right candidate.
