Job summary

This role will be hosted by United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust and will be accountable to the EMAP CEO steering group, acting on behalf of all eight of the EMAP provider partner organisations.

The Managing Director for the East Midlands Acute Providers (EMAP) network collaborative will play an essential role in this East Midlands wide system development by supporting the development of our formal Provider Collaborative. The opportunity to join the EMAP collaborative and lead the delivery of a large scale programme of improvement work should appeal to those experienced leaders who would relish the challenging but stimulating environment in which the 8 EMAP Trusts operates.

The Managing Director will drive the design, implementation and delivery of the EMAP agreed priorities and support the collaborative to stay focused on its vision.We are looking for someone who is determined, driven to improve, experienced in the complexities of NHS healthcare delivery and in working with stakeholders to deliver impact for our patients, their families/carers and our communities. For the right individual, this role offers a real opportunity to make a positive impact on the provision of acute care to benefit the lives of over 5.2million people living in the East Midlands.

Main duties of the job

The role of Managing Director for EMAP will be a challenging one. As a collaborative, we have a strong governance model and a prospectus of work which is ambitious and aspirational in order for us to achieve the significant impact we truly feel is possible by working together.

We are looking for someone who is determined, driven to improve, experienced in the complexities of NHS healthcare delivery and in working with stakeholders to deliver impact for our patients, their families/carers and our communities.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering system wide, collaborative improvement, have an engaging and inspirational manner, the professional confidence and experience to ensure the EMAP steering group can be assured about our plans and performance, and be able to influence at a local, system, regional and national level.

The post requires dynamic leadership skills, excellent communication abilities including handling external scrutiny and selling a vision to staff and stakeholders, an alignment with the values of EMAP and each partner organisation and an ability to provide clarity of thought and organisational direction while under operational pressure.

Our Trust is situated in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire and is one of the biggest acute hospital trusts in England, serving a population of more than 700,000 people. We provide acute and specialist services to people in Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties. We have an annual income of £643 million (20/21) and we employ nearly 8,500 people.
