Job summary

This is a key leadership role within United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust (ULHT), enabling the Deputy Director of Strategy and Planning to fulfil their responsibility for ensuring the presence of a clear strategic direction for clinical and corporate services helping ULHT achieve its vision.

The Strategy Manager will work with clinical leaders and management teams to develop effective strategies to achieve clinical and financial sustainability.

This post will assist in the annual update to the Integrated Improvement Plan (IIP) to include the evolving specialty clinical strategies and associated information regarding workforce, finance, and estates. This will include the dissemination of highly complex and politically sensitive information where there may be conflicting expectations.

Underpinning this role will be and ability to foster and develop effective relationships across organisations with particular focus on the development and subsequent delivery of the Lincolnshire System Joint Forward View.

As a subject matter and strategy expert, the post holder will be required to possess an advanced level of analysis and be able to resolve complex analytical queries and issues where there is a range of solutions and analyses. They will also be required to interpret and resolve highly complex statistical and information problems.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have leadership responsibility for the specialty review programme and development of key strategies; working collaboratively with the clinical and non-clinical teams to support the development and implementation of long term strategies for transformation and improvement.

The role will involve working with a working with a wider range of both internal and external stakeholders and with designated project staff to ensure the effective management and delivery of all aspects of allocated projects from scoping through options appraisal, implementation, performance management, and evaluation. This will include working collaboratively with System partners and across organisational boundaries.

The post holder will work closely with the senior clinical, divisional and operational teams in support of the development of key messages, principles and strategic objectives in support of the development and delivery of speciality clinical strategy and the subsequent delivery plans. This will include key objectives, timescales and cost improvement opportunities

As the subject matter expert, you will undertake best practice reviews to create insight documents and options appraisals and specialty review data packs for inclusion and use at specialty review workshops and beyond. Triangulating national and regional best practices opportunities to improve our services.
