Job summary

The Digital Services EUC Infrastructure Engineer will work as part of our infrastructure teams, supporting the delivery of new infrastructure and improvements to existing infrastructure and process.

You are likely to have skills in areas that include one or more of the below specialisms.

  1. End User Compute
  2. Office 365 and Microsoft Cloud
  3. End User Device modernisation including Windows 10 and VDI

This is an exciting time to join the team as we embark on a long term programme of ambitious digital change toward an Electronic Health Record (eHR).

1. To contribute to an efficient and effective Digital Delivery - Technical Services function supporting operational and service development which maximises the availability and reliability of the corporate and departmental systems and equipment to end users and partners.2. To contributes to the provision of 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support, including the design and introduction of new systems and infrastructure to the Trust and our partner organisations across the Lincolnshire STP footprint, and wider as part of reginal collaborations.3. Act as principle EUC engineer towards the Installation, support and maintenance of the Trust's enterprise infrastructure systems.4. To assist with the Introduction of new systems, ICT strategy, policies and procedures.5. To assist in the delivery of an efficient Digital Delivery function that meets both Trust and National requirements, supporting our staff and partners.

Main duties of the job

The role will work on specific tasks and assignments individually and as part of a team to develop, design and support the Trusts enabling technology infrastructure. This will involve the design, build, implementation, documentation and support, working closely with Trust project teams and suppliers to ensure new technology meets specified requirements.

The in house team within Digital Services has a full range of skills and specialisms, from programme and project management, to development of apps, technical support and specialist infrastructure and application teams. Anyone joining our department will find they have the opportunity to work with a variety of highly skilled staff as part of a team effort to support the Trust to deliver outstanding care.

Essential

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent in a computing related field and/or evidence of on-going personal, technical and management development

Desirable

  • Technical Accreditation in relevant subject area.
  • ITIL Foundation Qualification
  • Project Management Qualification e.g. Prince 2 Foundation

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Professional experience in providing technical support for End User Compute (EUC) environments.
  • Experience of managing an enterprise Inventory of equipment including associated peripherals and supporting applications
  • Professional experience of Microsoft and Apple technology stacks relevant to EUC.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within an NHS Digital Services environment
  • An awareness of NHS national programmes

Knowledge/Skills/Aptitudes

  • Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework:
  • Expert in Microsoft Desktop and Server Operating Systems
  • Expert in Microsoft and other Desktop applications including Cloud.
  • Expert in Dell/Intel server/pc hardware architecture
  • Knowledge and experience of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP architecture
  • Knowledge and experience of Antivirus, Backup and Filtering Software
  • Experience of Microsoft Cloud environments, including Azure and Office 365.
