An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic person to become part of the Plastic Surgery/ General outpatient's team; opportunities are available at both Hull Royal Infirmary (seven day service) and Castle Hill Hospital (Monday-Friday). The dedicated and experienced team care for patients who have experienced trauma/injuries and life changing events.
The service covers the Trauma unit at Hull Royal Infirmary/ General Outpatients, within this area we run a clean room theatre and support surgeons in performing minor surgeries. The Reconstruction Outpatient Service at Castle Hill Hospital offers complex wound dressing as well as post-operative reviews and the Westwood clean room, where minor procedures are carried out.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and knowledge within a specialised but varied surgical setting then this is the opportunity for you. This diverse environment will harbour your ability to work closely with the surgeons and therapists to coordinate the seamless delivery of care as well as close working relationships with Emergency care colleagues and inpatient surgical areas.
Main duties of the job
You will be extremely well supported within the environment and would have the chance of working with both experienced and dedicated nurses, and a motivated and engaging senior managerial team.
The successful applicant will play a vital role in delivering high quality, safe and efficient care to our patients. Good communication and teamwork are essential skills for the role with the ability to be flexible within the differing specialities.
You will gain management skills within your role. You will also support the band 7 in the daily running of the department including rostering, sickness reviews, HR meetings among other senior nurse management tasks.
You may be required to work across both areas and sites. Although predominantly weekday work there will be some weekend and evening work involved.
