Job summary
We are looking to recruit casual staff who are flexible, enthusiastic, confident individuals to join our department as a switchboard and portering/transport helpdesk operator based at Castle Hill Hospital.
We are looking for experienced operators who can work flexibly to cover a variety of shifts. The switchboard is a 24 hour service that runs 7 days a week.
This job would suit candidates who enjoy the flexibility of working unsocial hours. The shift patterns include days, lates, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will act as a first point of contact for Hull University Teaching Hospitals providing an effective, efficient and professional service.
Candidates must possess a high level of customer service and communication skills, work as a team and be fully conversant in computer and keyboard skills. The ability to multi-task, delegate and co-ordinate is required as part of the operator role.
You will be expected to deal with emergency calls and a variety of alarms and alerts in a calm and efficient manner.
Previous NHS experience in a similar role would be advantageous
