Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated individual, to work as part of the critical care team, collecting data for the Intensive Care National Audit Research Center (ICNARC) and the National Emergency Laparotomy Audit (NELA).

The post holder will be responsible for the collation and input of complex clinical data generated from the Intensive Care Unit.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will undertake data collection to enable participation in the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC) case mix programme, Critical Care Minimum Dataset (CCMDS), National Emergency Laparotomy Audit (NELA) and local audit projects.

You will be expected to work directly with medical and nursing staff within clinical areas . You will be required to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgement on a regular basis, ensuring that the highest quality data is collected and submitted.

A sound knowledge and understanding of computers and databases together with excellent analytical skills are required for this post. Knowledge of medical terminology and the principles of clinical audit are essential. Across site working may be required to cover in periods of absence.
