Job summary
The post holder will be a member of the Theatre Housekeeper team dedicated to providing and maintaininghigh standards of cleanliness. The post holder's specific responsibilities within that team are carried out under the supervision of the nurse in charge. They are focused onmaintaining national standards of cleanliness in relation to the direct patient environment and equipment within a specific ward area.
Main duties of the job
Clean the Theatre work areas and equipment in accordance with thedepartment equipment cleaning checklist planned work schedules and agreed work procedures.
Carry out spot cleaning of work area and equipment as required, ensuring spillages are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
Ensure that all chemicals are used and stored in accordance with COSHHprocedures and trust guidelines and the appropriate PPE provided is used correctly.
Through efficient work procedures, ensure minimum disruption to patients or staff within the work area.
Ensure all cleaning equipment is used and stored safely and correctly.
Adhere to cleaning schedules, and ensure information recorded on the Trust equipment cleaning lists is kept up to date.
Report all equipment in need of repairs or maintenance observed during the cleaning process to a member of staff, or via the appropriate reporting system used on the ward.
