Job summary
The Nurse specialist is responsible for the planning and patient flow through to their procedure for patients undergoing interventional cardiology procedures.
They will hold the necessary communication skills to be able to counsel patients with regards to their cardiac condition and liaise with members of the MDT as necessary.
Main duties of the job
Managing pre-assessment clinics including ecg interpretation, bloods and taking a relevant clinical history to determine correct procedural outcomes for patients.
Provide Nurse Led Service and clinics which assist the patients responsible consultant to provide prompt diagnosis, treatment and review interventions.
Perform physical assessments of patients prior to their procedure .
Act as a resource for specialist teaching, participate in preceptorship and mentoring programmes to all members of the Cardiology Team, trust and agencies where appropriate or invited.
Obtain informed consent by communicating complex information.
