Job summary

Ward 8 HRI is looking to recruit 2 highly motivated and enthusiastic staff nurses to join their hard working team. Ward 8 is a 27 bedded Acute Frailty Ward.

Successful candidates will be responsible for caring directly for a group of patients with the support of a Nursing Assistant to deliver high quality patient care. You will work under the supervision of the Senior Sister and in partnership with the members of the team.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be responsible for reporting to the Senior Sister and caring for a group of patients. Successful applicants need to have good time keeping and time management skills, as well as good communication skills both written and verbal - as they will be required to provide handovers to nurses and doctors. IT skills are essential - for assessing, planning, evaluating care and recording observations throughout each shift.

On a daily basis the successful candidates will work with a HCSW in leading the care for a group of patients - it will be required that you assist with basic nursing cares through out the shift, including meal service. Completion of medication rounds and assessing skin and dressing wounds will also be required.

The ward relies on teamwork therefore the successful applicant needs to be able to work well with in a team.
