Job summary
To assess plan and implement and evaluate care for pre op and post op patients.
Provide an efficient admission and discharge process. Participate in initiatives to enhance patient care and deliver Trust objectives in line with the staff charter. Promote health and wellbeing and deliver safe appropriate care.
To care for patient pre and post operatively preparing for their surgical procedures and post surgery. This includes using systems employed by the Trust such as Nerve Centre, EPMA and Lorenzo.
Duties will include medication rounds, personal and wound care. You will also be involved in the changes to care and the implementation of these and discharging patients. Providing direct nursing care and assisting patients to meet their activities of daily living requirements.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for planning and managing own workload against the needs of the patient.
Direct patient care . Assisting management with the running of the ward and participating with Audits and Trust initiatives.
Medication rounds including intravenous medication. Keeping up to date with training needed for your role including mandatory training. Participate in emergency care need for patients on the ward including cardiac arrest, fire or security issues. Wound care and management of surgical procedures. Helping with mobility, hygiene toiletting and eating and drinking.
