Job summary
The role of the Senior Radiopharmacy Assistant is to work within the cancer services team under the direction of the Molecular Imaging Research Centre manager to assist in the provision of an efficient and patient focused aseptic service to our patients and key stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
You will assist in the receipt, checking and storage of pharmaceutical bought in compounded and raw materials, consumables including cleaning products for aseptic processing against approved purchase orders meeting set standards for condition and documentation.
Regularly, participates in the cleaning of the aseptic unit as specified in the quality diary including the quarterly full cleans.
You will effectively contribute to the maintenance of appropriate stock levels of drugs and consumables used within the aseptic unit, minimising waste while ensuring sufficient stock is available to prepare treatments. You will participate in stock checks, noting stock requirements against stock levels, expiry dates, stock rotation escalating any failings to the senior technician team.
You will verify that the equipment you are using is fit for purpose and working within normal parameters, documenting and escalating any discrepancies to the responsible person.
Undertakes, regular routine QC monitoring against a schedule in the form of settle and contact plate monitoring, simulation test kits, swabs, particle counting and air sampling, completing all required documentation
