Humber Health Partnership have a very exciting opportunity for a fixed-term Band 7 Clinical Lead Physiotherapist to join our Acute Medicine team at Hull Royal Infirmary. The service covers the acute medicine and frailty inpatient wards and is made up of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Professionals and Therapy Assistants, working closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in order to identify, address and optimise patients' therapy needs on the acute inpatient wards at Hull Royal Infirmary.
The service is looking for an enthusiastic individual with acute healthcare leadership experience to work with our existing senior team. The post-holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to the team, and take a primary role in conjunction with the existing Clinical Leads in driving the ongoing development of the service to ensure the service is effective for meeting patient's needs.
There is an expectation for the post-holder to input to the late shift rota, providing cover for the ground floor admission avoidance areas until 8pm. They will also work regular 1 in 5 weekends and provide input to the Bank Holiday rota. There will also be an expectation to join the on-call physiotherapy rota.
This is an ideal role for an experienced individual looking to take a step into Clinical Leadership and consolidate both clinical and managerial skills in this core acute clinical speciality.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to plan, coordinate, deliver and review the therapy service provided to patients referred on the acute inpatient Medicine and Frailty areas at Hull Royal Infirmary. As a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist, you will have an enhanced level of clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of patients with a variety of acute conditions, including respiratory assessment and support - both ward-based and at on-call skill level.
You will be jointly responsibility for the clinical leadership, professional and organisational development of the Acute Medicine service, along with the existing Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist in the team. You will also liaise closely with other Clinical Leads of related and interconnected clinical services to ensure effective patient pathways through the system. You will be required to have a high regard for clinical operations and governance to assure high standards of patient centred care.
We are seeking an individual who can adapt to changing environments and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the team and build networks to ensure working in partnerships with other agencies to identify and address immediate needs.
The post holder will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to prioritise and work effectively in a timely manner.
