Ward Hygienist/Housekeeper

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join the team on Ward 39 at HRI in the role of Hygienist.
You will work alongside the nursing team and fellow housekeeper to ensure that high standards are maintained to deliver a quality service. You will work closely with the Housekeeper and there will be a cross over in your role, both are expected to support one another and deputise when one is on leave.
The working days are Mon - Saturday.
Ward 39 is a specialist Cardiology Ward which consists of 20 beds, wepredominately take care of Heart Failure patients, however we take any Cardiology patients who do not require invasive cardiology intervention.
Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.
Main duties of the job
The Hygienist Job role includes maintaining national standards of cleanliness in relation to the direct patient environment and medical equipment within the ward area, whilst adhering to infection control policies.
The successful applicant will need to have good communication skills, be flexible to meet the needs of the service and be able to work under their own initiative, escalating issues including broken and worn out equipment as necessary.
Knowledge of working in a care environment would be an advantage but not essential. You will be expected to complete the National Care Certificate.
Academic qualifications are not essential although IT skills would be an advantage as reporting broken equipment is done electronically.
Full training and support will be provided.
