Job summary

The gynae-oncology CNS team are looking to recruit a passionate, enthusiastic and motivated CNS to join their team. The post holder will work closely across the whole patient pathway working across both surgery and Oncology teams to ensure a seamless delivery of care is provided The Gynae-Oncology CNS team are integral in the delivery, support and influence of the cancer journey and experience to provide high quality care.

Main duties of the job

As a gynaecology Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), the post holder is responsible for providing appropriate specialist advice, support and education to patients diagnosed with a Gynaecological malignancy with support from the senior Gynaecology Cancer CNS.

You will work autonomously alongside the Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to deliver high quality care to those with a lung cancer. You will also provide guidance, supervision and training to peers and junior members of staff both internal and external to the Trust, promoting a seamless service within a multi-professional framework.

You will implement programmes of holistic care at all stages of the patient's pathway including pre-diagnostic surgical support and advice, holistic needs assessments, review patients on active non- surgical treatment as part of their clinical pathway, follow-up and LWBC as required. You will support the Trust cancer nursing model to provide delivery of care for cancer patients throughout the patient pathway.

As an integral member of the CNS team, the post holder will be able to influence patient care through development of specialist skills, knowledge and experience. You will be actively involved in monitoring and developing the service across the trust to ensure that patients receive sustainable high-quality care that is safe and effective through the audit process and patient feedback initiatives.
