Job summary
Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Home Mechanical Ventilation Service (HMVS) and Sleep Services is the regional complex ventilation centre taking referrals for home mechanical ventilation and cough augmentation for patients from Hull and East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, North and North East Lincolnshire.
You would be responsible for supporting the Home Mechanical Ventilation team in the delivery of direct patient care procedures and to work as part of the team to maintain delivery of the service including basic lung function testing, overnight oximetry and maintenance of home ventilation devices and consumables.
Main duties of the job
As a Respiratory Assistant, you will be responsible for taking part in the provision of the service for the domiciliary care of patients with a variety of clinical conditions requiring ventilation (invasive and non-invasive), complex CPAP, cough assist therapy and sleep diagnostics/reviews.
You will be responsible for supporting the Home Ventilation team in the delivery of direct patient care procedures and to work as part of the team to maintain delivery of the service.
The post holder will be required to support the clinical team across sites including:
Castle Hill Hospital
Hull Royal Infirmary
Diana Princess of Wales (Grimsby)
Scunthorpe General Hospital
East Riding Community Hospital
Home visits across the region
