To work within the Speech & Language Therapy Team to provide an efficient and effective service in line with the guidance of the Clinical Lead Speech & Language Therapists for Acute Medical, the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
To manage own caseload of inpatients with an acquired swallowing and/or communication disorder in acute medicine

Main duties of the job
You'll be working with an expert team of SLTs providing services to Acute Medical wards on the Hull Royal Infirmary site. You will have opportunities to gain specialist skills in areas such as respiratory care, frail elderly and critical care, (further) developing your experience in dysphagia, Videofluoroscopy and working closely with MDT colleagues.
You'll join a dynamic, supportive and forward thinking team in a large teaching and major trauma centre with first class facilities. We run regular Videofluoroscopy clinics using the MBSImP protocol and have an established and very busy FEES service.
Continuing Professional Development is actively encouraged and there are ongoing opportunities to help shape and deliver service improvements and new ways of working, including opportunities to work with colleagues in research.
