Senior Assistant Respiratory Physiologist

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 3 to join our friendly team in at the lung function unit Castle Hill Hospital and Community Diagnostic Hub, Hull University Teaching Hospital Trust. We are a busy unit performing diagnostic tests for patients from Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, North and North East Lincolnshire.

We run a well-established lung function, sleep and CPAP service, with plans to establish CPET service. Current recruitment opportunities arise to meet the new demand at the Community Diagnostic Hub in Hull city centre. Staff will be rostered to cover both sites.

Hull University Teachings Hospitals operates as the tertiary centre for many specialties including; respiratory, cardiology, rheumatology, haematology, neurology and immunology as a result the post holder will be expect to recognise and adapt to the needs of more complex patient cohort.

Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.

Main duties of the job

As a Snr physiologist assistant, the post holder will have direct daily contact with referees including: clinical staff and administrative support.

Primarily the position has direct contact with patients and carers performing simple respiratory investigations.

Successful applicants will help service provision of lung and sleep diagnostics to ARTP standards for in/outpatient services.

The post holder must be reliable, accurate and work to high professional standard, in line with ARTP.

The information measured is used to aid in diagnosis of disease and influence treatment regime. The post holder will also be responsible in the maintenance and calibration of equipment, including those intended for domiciliary use.

The post holder will be trained in ARTP spirometry certification.
