Job summary

An Exciting opportunity has arisen on Ward 14, CHH for a Band 6 Registered Nurse on a 6 month secondment. Ward 14 is a busy surgical ward that specializes in Upper GI surgery along with Maxillofacial surgery. The Band 6 role involves supporting the Band 7 to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered. You will be involved in the preceptorship and support of junior staff and act as a role model at all times.

This is a secondment post at Band 6 for up to 6 months. The post holder should have experience at band 5 level and have experience of supporting junior staff. The post holder will be expected to act as a role model at all times and ensure a high level of clinical care is upheld. The Applicant would be expected to work closely with the Ward Sister and act as a deputy in her absence.

Main duties of the job

The main duties will include :

  • Leading clinical nursing practice within the clinical area.
  • Securing and assuring the highest standards of clinical care with the support of the Senior Nursing team
  • The effective management of clinical & non-clinical risk reporting to the Ward Sister
  • The post holder will be expected to deal with queries/complaints from patients and relatives as well as staff members.
  • Take an active role in supporting with all ward audits.
