Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for the new role of Group Director of Patient Safety and Quality Governance to join a new NHS Group - Our Group is one of the largest acute Group arrangements in the NHS with a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) have significant ambitions and are committed to delivering more together for the populations we serve.

We are now looking for a Remarkable Person to join our Extraordinary Place at this pivotal time. We are looking for a Director to join us who is flexible, positive and can provide outstanding leadership to the Patient Safety and Quality Governance departments.

Main duties of the job

This post presents an exciting opportunity for an individual who is keen to be part of our quality and safety improvement journey and who is passionate about the patient safety agenda.

This position is integrated within the Group Chief Nurse's Office and reports directly to the Group Chief Nurse, the portfolio requires the postholder to work closely with the Medical Director and the Corporate and Operational Nursing and Medical teams to deliver all aspects of quality governance.

About us

The individual will be responsible for a portfolio that includes Patient Safety, Legal Services, Clinical Effectiveness, Audit and Compliance, Quality Governance, and Risk, thereby enhancing the Trust's overall performance.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, have excellent analytical skills and lead with compassion in line with our Group values and behaviours.

They will be committed to improving clinical outcomes and patient safety and experience by establishing and integrating governance and risk management systems, setting clear quality and safety priorities and educational strategies, and fostering a culture focused on psychological safety and fairness.
